The Center For Slow Relation

The Atlanta Center for Slow Relation, lovingly called The Slow Space, is experimental community space where folks gather for integrated relational work between activists, artists, practitioners, and the land. Located in East Atlanta, just steps from Weelaunee Forest, The Slow Space is the site for a number of community gardens; including a hoodoo native herb oasis and an indigenous re-matriation garden for produce and wildflowers. The Center’s grounds also host a praxis cove/co-working space for poets, writers, and art-makers, an outdoor atrium for live performances and workshops, and an on-site art gallery and library. Currently, the grounds are maintained by landstewards Aurielle Marie and Dr. Zoë Lucier-Julian. The co-stewards facilitate reproductive justice gatherings, peer mediation for activists and organizing groups, and community wellness events.

The Center will eventually expand to include a second structure, which will house a communally accessible apothecary for spiritual practitioners, a gathering space for workshops, conferences, and art events, and a studio for an artist residency program. We’re working to launch an independent website and appreciate your patience! For more information, use the contact portal.
